Is StudentHub free?
Yes — calendar, notes, tasks, files, boards, recordings and focus sessions are all free, with no account and no ads. The free tier includes 3 lecture transcriptions, 2 flashcard decks and 50 cards. Pro removes those limits and adds quiz mode, grade insights with a goal calculator, custom focus presets and monochrome home-screen tiles. What does Pro cost?
6 months (1 semester) costs $19.99 12 months (one year) costs 29.99 (SAVE $9.99) You subscribe through the App Store, so you can cancel any time from your Apple account settings.
Which devices does it work on, and do I pay once for all of them?
iPhone, iPad and Mac. One subscription covers all your devices signed in with the same Apple Account.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There's no sign-up, no email, no password. You just open the app and start.
How does syncing work?
Your content syncs through your own private iCloud — same Apple Account on every device. You can turn it off in Settings if you'd rather keep everything on one device.
Does everything sync, including my recordings?
Not quite: lecture recordings and imported files stay on the device they were created on and are not synced. Everything else — subjects, notes, tasks, boards, flashcards, grades — syncs.
If I cancel Pro, do I lose my notes?
No. Everything you've made stays yours and stays readable. You just lose access to the Pro features until you resubscribe.
Can you see my notes?
No. Your content lives on your device and in your own private iCloud database. We have no server that receives it, no analytics tracking how you use the app, and no ads. The only thing that leaves your device is your subscription status, handled by RevenueCat — it contains no study data and isn't tied to your name or email.
How good is the lecture transcription?
Transcription runs entirely on your device, so your audio never leaves it — and it works without a connection. Quality depends on the recording: a clear microphone close to the speaker gives good results, a noisy lecture hall from the back row gives rough ones.
Do I need an Apple Pencil?
No, but boards are best with one. On iPhone boards are for reading and sticky notes; drawing needs an iPad or Mac.
